In recent years new materials have been developed that have a greater ability to control noise. These materials are heterogeneous and are formed by networks of isolated acoustic dispersers immersed in air. These materials possess certain interesting characteristics to be used as acoustic screens. Some of its qualities are: incorporate a new noise control mechanism called multiple dispersion; allow passage through the air and water thereby requiring less foundation; they come from sculptural works, incorporating an aesthetic aspect to the screens; allows the use of recycled materials in its composition; and finally, they bring an extra technology to the field of acoustic screens, allowing a personalized design. At present there is a model of this screen patented by the Universitat Politècnica de València and approved for traffic noise.
