Description:

This paper presents a study on the socio-economic consequences of traffic accidents, thus justifying the need for the development of driving assistance systems such as the one presented here, as well as a review of the state of the art in relation to detection obstacles to road environments through computer vision. Within the scope of the detection of obstacles by computer vision we will focus on the use of stereo vision systems, since the method developed and object of this notebook is based on this technology.

 

The method based on the uv-disparity allows the differentiation between obstacles and road in front of the vehicle, as well as the maximum distance to which this distinction can be made according to the minimum height of the obstacles to be detected and the configuration data of the vehicle. stereo system such as: height, pitch angles and warping, etc.
