Description:

Many studies have been carried out and have shown that the use of BT technology for the sensing of mobility is already a fact. Several companies have developed commercial sensors for the application of BT to the ITS market. The use of this technology has had a great boom, mainly due to the proliferation of devices that use it and that are on-board in the vehicle.

In addition, the penetration rates of these devices are increasing, which ensures that in the coming years the samples taken are increasing, and therefore, the precision to be obtained in the determination of the parameters of mobility will be increasing.

A great advantage of using this technology is that the BT device that is detected does not have to be installed in the vehicle, take advantage of the equipment that the users of the vehicle use for other purposes (smartphone, browsers, headphones, tablets, etc.). This greatly reduces implementation costs. Furthermore, BT sensors are relatively easy to create and their components are not excessively expensive.

In this work, a compendium of the main products that currently exist in the market is made. The objective is to analyze the characteristics of these sensors, the model of exploitation of the data and mainly the architecture that has been defined for the system.
