On April 7th, a round table will be held on the International Road Maintenance Day #IRMD2022, within the framework of the V Andalusian Road Congress organized by the Spanish Road Association (AEC) and promoted by the Ministry of Development, Infrastructure and Planning of the Territory of the Regional Government of Andalusia.

The round table will be coordinated by the president of ASEFMA and EAPA, Juan José Potti, and will be attended by Xavier Flores, secretary general of Infrastructures of the Spanish Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda (MITMA); Carsten Karcher, secretary general of the European Asphalt and Pavement Association (EAPA); Cristine Leroy, technical director of Routes de France; Javier Herrero, general director of highways at MITMA; Enrique Catalina, general director of infrastructures of the Regional Government of Andalusia; Javier Piedra, road director of the Provincial Council of Valencia; and Ángel Sampedro, director of the engineering department of the Alfonso X El Sabio University.

On Thursday, April 7th, continuously in the morning and afternoon, itafec will broadcast the different activities that will take place within the framework of #IRMD2022 to focus on the importance of preventive maintenance of our roads, thus making it possible for emissions associated with transport to be lower.

The objective of the conference is to highlight the advances that are taking place in the conservation of roads from the perspective of innovation and research. These advances are enriching the paving sector, providing it with greater environmental awareness.

In 2018, the International Road Maintenance Day (better known as IRMD) was celebrated for the very first time, see https://roadmaintenanceday.org. Thanks to it, a very interesting and influential breeding ground is being generated to be able to defend the need for preventive conservation, with the consequent reduction in the emissions generated by the vehicles that circulate on our roads.
