The influence of the road surface on emissions generated by vehicles circulating on them will be subjected to extensive analysis during the International Road Maintenance Day #IRMD2021.

On Thursday April 8th itafec will broadcast, in a continous morning and afternoon session, an in-depth technical programme, dedicated to the sustainability of road infrastructures and its impact on achieving climate neutrality.

Under the motto “Maintaining roads is protecting the environment by research” twenty international speakers, all experts in the area, will give lectures on road maintenance, intelligent mobility, paving sustainability and environmental and social criteria regarding road design, among many other topics.

The aim of this day is to emphasize the progress being made in road maintenance from the perspective of innovation and research. A progress enriching the pavement sector by enhancing heightened environmental sensitivity.

IRMD has given rise to a very interesting and influential breeding ground in defence of the need for preventive maintenance, with the consequent reduction of emissions generated by vehicles on our roads. This year’s edition, next April 8th 2021, will be broadcast in HD streaming as of 9:30 a.m. (CEST) by itafec, by implementation of the same broadcast and production system used last year, fully in line with #StayHome under the motto “Maintaining roads is protecting the environment by research”. This year we want to emphasize the progress being made in road maintenance from the perspective of innovation and research. We seek to show each and every progress made to enhance this heightened environmental sensitivity in the pavement sector.
