The Spanish Asphalt Pavement Association (Asefma), in collaboration with the Slovenian Asphalt Pavement Association (ZAS) and with the support of EAPA, is pleased to announce the 4th International Conference on Asphalt 4.0 (ICA 4.0), which will be held at the Business Center Meeting Place in Madrid, see https://ica4point0.com

The fourth edition of the International Conference on Asphalt 4.0 will take place on September 24 and 25 2025 in Madrid. It will be held in-person, digitally and virtually, in a PDV format, as in previous editions.

This edition will feature a monograph developed by Asefma, offering an overview of the current state of digitalization in Spain’s asphalt paving sector, illustrated with specific examples. A similar document from EAPA, which is practically finalized, will also be presented. This is therefore an excellent opportunity to learn firsthand which programme, companies and technologies are driving this major change—digitalization—in the asphalt paving sector.

The technical programme has been structured around seven sessions that will review a series of stages of maximum interest: the impact of digitalization on decarbonization, the consequences of Asphalt 4.0 on the productivity of asphalt paving, the development of digital platforms for road administrations, the consequences for the durability of pavements, the digitalization for monitoring the state of maintenance of roads, etc. Many of these sessions will feature a debate or round table, open to the public, in which a series of specialists will participate.

In addition, as in previous editions, a series of open-access presentations will be presented in a special session or as part of selected sessions. This will provide an insight into the level of development, experiences gained, and the latest innovations.

The Asphalt 4.0 Conference will not only cover asphalt-specific topics, but also broader subjects related to asphalt roads and transport infrastructure. These include E-mobility, Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS), and cutting-edge technologies such as Blockchain, Digital Twins, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and more.
